Tero Estates – Flying Trout Wines

Tero Estates first release was their 2007 vintage, and they are close to celebrating their first year as a winery. This winery actually consists of two distinct wineries: Tero Estates and Flying Trout Wines. Tero Estates is located in the Southern portion of the Walla Walla appellation, near Milton-Freewater, Oregon. They focus on big red’s, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, and sourced primarily from their own “Windrow Estate Vineyards”, which consists of some of the oldest commercially planted vineyards in the Walla Walla appellation. The winery itself is located right in the middle of Windrow Vineyards. Flying Trout Wines are located in the same winery location as Tero Estates, in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Flying Trout Wines have been around for a while longer, and they focus on smaller lot production of Malbec and Malbec Blends, sourcing from the greater Columbia Valley. Plus, they import a special white wine from Argentina, their “Torrontes”. Combined, these two wineries are considered “boutique sized”, producing totally 1,200 cases annually. They have received some prestigious ratings from Wine Enthusiast and The Seattle Wine Awards.
